Repair Services

I am happy to be able to offer my repair and tech services to Olympia and the South Puget Sound area. Though I'm semi-retired now, I'm available to provide the following services:

• Setups - from basic string changes to a complete playability makeover. Replace the strings, polish the frets, adjust the truss rod, adjust the nut slot depth, set the intonation, match the saddles to the fretboard radius, and many other options.

• Fret work - whether you have worn frets on an older guitar or a few high frets on a new guitar. Level, crown, and polish the frets, file and smooth the fret ends, or add a fall-away where frets 10-24 are gradually leveled slightly more to allow lower action and cleaner playing on the higher frets.

• Electronics - from replacing pickups to completely re-wiring the guitar. Install or replace pickups, replace pots or switches, add series/parallel wiring, coil tapping, '50s wiring, and kill switches.

• Hardware - replace small parts, necks & bodies, and everything in between. Replace the bridge/tremolo, pickguard and plastics, tuners, necks, and bodies.

• Finish/Refinish work - I am offering complete bolt-on neck finishing work, including aged/relic finishes and headstock decal installation. Body finishing is very limited and only available in the warmer months. For set-neck and neck-thru guitars, I can offer spot repairs but complete finish/refinish is not currently available.
